The History Of Kildeer, IL

 

The area that is now the Village of Kildeer was mostly rural and consisted of farms and lands undeveloped until WWII ended. The population growth and increased demand for housing, creating new suburbs outside of many major cities. The Kildeer area began to attract people who wanted to live a relatively rural life.

Kildeer was incorporated in 1958 and now approaching a population of 4,000 and about 1,200 residences. The whole area consists of customized houses, forests with picturesque ponds, and lakes.
